Ina Gardner is writer of numerous popular American cookery books. Ina also hosts Barefoot Contessa on Food Network. It began in 2002. Ina Garten began her career as a journalist at the White House where she wrote the nuclear energy policy as well as budget reports. While she initially found the work fascinating, eventually she became bored. Then she bought an Barefoot Contessa a small speciality food shop. Her store was extremely successful over the course of 18 years until she decided to sell it. After that, she started the first book. In the following years, numerous cookbooks were published, and she also wrote magazine columns. Her Food Network television program also began and rapidly gained popularity. Ina sells a variety of items, from the ingredients needed for cooking, to kitchenware and storage. Ina has never attended a cookery school nor did she work in a dining establishment.
