Tina Louise (born Tina Louise) is a American writer, singer and performer best known for playing Ginger Grant in Gilligan's Island. Her acting career began as a stage performer in the 1950s starting in Two's Company a musical by Bettle Davis. After that, she acted on Broadway in various productions until 1957 when Li'l Abner became famous at the National Theatre. Her first album, titled It's Time to Tina in the same year. Louise began her Hollywood career in 1958, when she played Griselda Walden in God's Little Acre a dramatic film. It was a huge success and Louise received an award called the Golden Globe Award for the New Star of the Years category. When she was students in Lee Strasberg, she attended the Actors Studio New York. In 1964, she signed to CBS and played Ginger Grant. Louise had a long and successful career balancing Broadway television and Hollywood as well as portraying a more serious in contrast to her glamour-doll image had been portrayed as.
